Olah,.. Barcelona Spain!

The jewel of the northeastern coast of Spain,.Barcelona is the gorgeous port city capitol of the municipality of Catalonia and simply the mesmerizing equal of the other famous cities of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea! Legend has it that the city was founded by the great Carthaginian Warrior Hamilcar Barca, Father of Hannibal, whom named the city Barcino after his family in the 3rd century BC. By 15 BC the Romans were using it as one of many small colonies along the Mediterranean were it quickly outgrew its neighboring port cities in wealth and influence due to its impressive harbor.

History would see this great city trading hands many times. The Medial period alone saw the City taken first by the Visigoths in the 5the century,.then the Arab Muslims in the 8th Century which was quickly followed by a successful siege mounted by Charlemenge's Army finally making it the seat of his buffer zone between his empire and the muslims and which was ruled by a titled nobility called the Count of Barcelona.

After a particularly viscous attack in the 9th century the city would remain under Muslim rule until becoming part of the kingdom of Aragon in 1137
